One-day Itinerary for Verona

As mentioned before one day is more than enough for Verona. I had planned a full day in Verona and decided in the afternoon to spend the rest at Lake Garda. Verona is a very beautiful city in the north of Italy. It had a very prosperous time in the 13th and 14th centuries. The story of Romeo and Juliet takes place in Verona. It is not clear if Shakespeare ever visited.

Morning

Start your day by visiting the Piazza Bra. Piazza Bra is the central square of Verona. You can enjoy the view of the Arena di Verona from the square.

Take the short walk to Piazza delle Erbe. It is a beautiful square surrounded by old buildings. Enjoy the Marketplace and try some of the local food.

Visit Juliet’s House (Casa di Giulietta). Admire the balcony, take a picture with her statue, and leave a message on the wall. I also recommend to visit inside of the house. Take a picture on the balcony.

Afernoon

Visit Ponte Pietra, an ancient Roman bridge, which offers a picturesque view over the Adige River.

Walk through the historical streets of Verona and visit the Piazza dei Signori and the Palazzo della Ragione. Piazza dei Signori is a beautiful square with many charming buildings around it. Palazzo della Ragione is a palace at the heart of Verona. Today, it is the home of the Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery.

Visit the Torre dei Lamberti. If you want to see Verona from above, consider buying Lamberti Tower Entry ticket (included in Verona Card)

Walk to the Castelvecchio, a medieval fortress and museum.

Evening

Visit a show in the Arena di Verona. You can buy tickets directly from the arena.
